Samsung has officially accelerated development of One UI 9, the company's next-generation Android interface built on Android 17. Following the launch of the beta program for the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is expected to expand testing to more smartphones and tablets before the stable rollout begins later this year. As excitement builds, one question continues to dominate online searches: Will my Galaxy phone receive the One UI 9 update?

One UI 9 is expected to deliver far more than a routine software update. Samsung is introducing new artificial intelligence features, stronger security protections, improved multitasking, smarter customization tools, and a redesigned user experience built around Android 17. The company is also refining Galaxy AI capabilities, making everyday tasks such as writing, translating, searching, editing photos, and organizing notes faster and more intuitive.

New creative tools for Samsung Notes, an improved Gallery selection interface, enhanced file sharing, and AI-powered assistance inside Samsung Internet are among the biggest additions expected in the update.

Samsung has already opened the One UI 9 beta for the Galaxy S26 lineup in several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, India, and Poland. The company is now reportedly testing the software internally on additional Galaxy devices ahead of a wider beta rollout. Industry reports suggest the stable version could debut alongside Samsung's next generation of foldable smartphones before expanding gradually to other eligible devices worldwide.

Based on Samsung's software support policy and current testing, the following flagship devices are widely expected to receive One UI 9:

  • Galaxy S26 Ultra, S26+, and S26
  • Galaxy S25 Ultra, S25+, S25, S25 Edge, and S25 FE
  • Galaxy S24 Ultra, S24+, S24, and S24 FE
  • Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7
  • Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6
  • Selected Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab S11 models
  • Newer Galaxy A-series smartphones, including the A55, A56, A36, and A26 families.

However, not every Galaxy device will make the transition to Android 17. Several older smartphones have reached the end of their promised major software support and are expected to remain on earlier versions of One UI while continuing to receive security updates.

Reports indicate that devices such as parts of the Galaxy S22 family, Galaxy S21 FE, and older foldable models may not receive the full One UI 9 experience, making this update an important milestone for users considering an upgrade.

One UI 9 also reflects Samsung's broader AI strategy. Rather than treating artificial intelligence as a standalone feature, Samsung is integrating AI throughout the operating system. Galaxy AI will become more deeply connected with writing tools, image editing, productivity apps, and system-wide search.

Premium Galaxy devices are also expected to benefit from tighter integration with advanced AI assistants and on-device intelligence that reduces dependence on cloud processing while improving privacy and speed.

For millions of Galaxy users, One UI 9 represents one of Samsung's most important software releases in years. Beyond visual improvements, the update is expected to make devices smarter, faster, and more secure while extending the usefulness of supported smartphones and tablets.

As Samsung continues expanding beta testing over the coming weeks, users can expect additional compatible devices to be announced before the global rollout officially begins.
